I really enjoyed doing the first one of these blogs in this little sort of series so decided to follow it up with another round. If you have any food Youtubers you are loving right now or think I might find interesting please do let me know about them in the comments below.
This channel probably isn’t for everybody, especially if you are the sort of person that likes to hear people talking their way through the cooking, but this is a greatly relaxing channel to just sit and watch. The sounds are of the local surroundings; the stream, fire, woods and so on. It is a simple video style but also artistic in the way that it is filmed and put together. It allows the cooking itself to be the core focus rather than a person trying to take the light away from the ingredients and processes involved.
We all know baking is a huge refreshed trend these days, much to the WI’s delight, after GBBO took to our screens. What I like about Cupcake Jemma though is the way she splits herself off from the baking business she is involved in and shows people how they can do things from the basics to the more elaborate at home. The language is understandable and the showing of the processes are really clear which makes the videos themselves enjoyable to watch whilst also giving people the ability to actually follow the recipe too.
The food cooked here always looks and sounds great. The best ones are where he is cooking something from a film or TV Show as it is always good to see foods being brought to life. The videos are all short with being just 5-10 minutes in length and whilst they are more about you watching the cooking than possibly being able to replicate the dish for yourself at home they still captivate and make your mouth drool a little!
There is no getting around the fact that this guy has a bit of an unusual (read mildly annoying) voice but there is something about that voice and the way he shows the cooking that makes it really difficult to stop watching a video. Some of the things he makes are a little bit unusual and I am still not convinced about wanting to cook them at the end of the video but I appreciate the effort that goes into each of the videos and am quite happy to sit down and wath them on release.
