I have to admit that when I got ‘nominated’ for this award I was a bit confused. Only just returning to the blogging scene and moving away from just food blogging I had to do a little research about it. Seeing the word liebster made me think many negative things all connected to the lie part on liebster – like some modern term for a liar (like a hipster – yknow).
But it seems like a positive thing done by people already on the blogging scene to help expand readership of themselves and their nominees. Therefore thank you for the nomination Jennifer and I hope this proves interesting to you and any other readers.

I’m having to mentally tick everything off this list as I go along because as regular readers might have guessed I am fairly scatterbrained so if I miss something out then be sure to let me know.
But at least we are onto the fun part now of me answering the questions given to me. I haven’t looked at the questions beforehand (well I glanced) so don’t have any pre-thought through fabulous answers.
Which Youtube Guru would you love to collaborate with?
This is a tough question. I only recently got into watching Youtube videos and I’m always looking out for more. I think I’d be happy to work with most of them. There are a few (who I’ll avoid naming) that I think are really annoying or offensive (and not in a funny way) and I’d probably avoid them at all costs.
I also hate being in front of the camera so I’d rather be the person shooting the video or something. And yes I spent several years studying journalism having to be in front of a camera as well as behind but I never wanted that. Maybe if I wake up pretty one day I will feel differently.
Favourite part about Winter?
I’ve realised this entire post might make me just seem like a really negative person but I struggle to like winter.
I mean Christmas is alright but only when you walk around town or shops and see kids eyes lighting up in excitement. I’m at that age where we are just starting out in life and money is tight so Christmas is a pretty stressful time.
I like winter when you wake up to a crisp morning or snow but here in London it is mainly just grey and wet. When I used to live in the north of England at least there would be frost on the ground and a feel of winter in the air.
Which is your favourite eyeshadow palette?
I fon’t have that many palettes and most of them are all really small but my absolute favourite is the MUA Metallic Eye Palette – Alchemy. It only has three shades in (cream, brown and bronze) and includes an eye primer (which isn’t as good as my Revolution one but still decent) but it is so creamy and applies so well it is one of my go to palettes.
If you could only choose one eyeshadow palette to use for the rest of time, what would it be?
Here I am in yet another blog post proving to the world I am just one big Plain Jane. My daily run to eyeshadow palette is the W7 Naked Nudes one. It has a white and then three different ‘nude’ shades in. They apply as matte and are the ones I find most useful for applying in a rush as I can get away with applying just one if I don’t have the time or energy to turn it into a more complex look.
Most anticipated thing happening in 2016?
I’m not sure if there is anything coming up in 2016 for me to report on. In a dream world I will get a job and combined with my partners salary we can go on a little holiday abroad somewhere or finally start saving for the wedding (we got engaged back in January but at the current rate of savings will be 1000s of years old before we get any further).
My partner is graduating from his MA in the summer of 2016 though. He finished it in September but has to wait until then to graduate. I’m looking forward to that and seeing where his career progression takes him next. I want to move back to Yorkshire but I doubt a suitable job will come along for him.
Favourite autumnal fashion item?
I love a good thick coat. Being able to go outside and go around Christmas markets or to bonfire night etc and be all wrapped up warm with a faux fur rimmed hood around your face and holding a hot beverage is just so much fun. There are always good coats, whatever the year.
Who is your celebrity style crush?
I try pretty hard to avoid wanting to be like or look like somebody else. It’s also pretty dishesrtening for me because celebs are gorgeous and have stylists and no amount of my getting similar products will make me look like them.
Much in the same way I struggle to ‘fancy’ any celebs because they often have amazing teams to make them look that good.
What makes me happy and smile is good enough for me.
Most used beauty item?
Make-up wise it is mascara without a doubt. It was the first proper piece of make-up that I bought as I was growing up and is one that I can use all year round.
Because of that I probably use my eye curlers the most out of any of my items. I have quite long and curled lashes anyway but it is always nice to give them and the mascara a helping hand.
Last beauty item that you bought?
Sadly I’m guessing bubble bath doesn’t count. I’m honestly not sure what the last thing that I bought was but I think it was an eye mask from Body Shop that has gel inside and I can pop in the fridge for an extra chill to help take any puff or heat out of my eyes. I love using it although in this weather it doesn’t get anywhere near the fridge!
Which makeup item do you regret buying the most?
There are so many things that I regret buying. I regret buying bright eyeshadows at 14 and not understanding how to apply them properly (meaning I looked like a clown). But I think I regret most buying tea tree facial products because that stuff just dred my skin out and ruined it so much. Most bad purchases can just be taken off and cast aside but it took ages for my face to properly recover from cleansing, toning and moisturising with the stuff.
Now this is where I break the rules. Choosing people to nominate is way too stressful for me and I don’t want people to feel forced that they have to do it. Instead if you want in then let me know and I’ll ‘tag’ you in the post. The questions you would have to answer are below. But I hope you enjoyed finding out a little bit more about me (though you probably didn’t).
1. What makes you smile?
2. Home cooked meal or restaurant meal? And what would that meal be?
3. Where do you want to be in 10 years time? Personally, professionally, literal location, anything.
4. How do you feel about meeting new people?
5. Who is your inspiration? Family, friend, celeb, teacher, man and his dog, whoever.
6. Favourite shop to go in?
7. Favourite type of chocolate?
8. Your favourite quote or song lyric?
9. The first thing you would do if you won £1million?
10. If you could only take one person, one book, one type of snack and one other item with you to a dessert island for a week what would they be?
